Share Your Soviet Immigration Story

Soviet schoolchildren for Soviet-Jewish immigration stories and historyCalling all Soviet/Russian Jewish immigrants! I’m working on an oral history project on the 1970s immigration period. I’ll be interviewing people and posting it as part of an online exhibit on the history of Soviet immigration.

Here’s where you can help – I’m looking for Soviet-Jewish immigrants to interview who left the USSR in the 1970s. You might have a dramatic story, or a not-so-dramatic story – I’m interested in all experiences! I’m working out of Toronto, so I’m starting with people currently in Toronto (or the immediate vicinity), but even if you’re elsewhere in Canada and the US, I’d love to speak to you at some point.

So, if you’re a former Soviet-Jewish immigrant, or you know someone who is and would be interested – maybe your parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles – please get in touch with me!

I’m also looking for people in Toronto who can help with this project – with filming and editing, and with web work. If that’s you, also get in touch!
