Blogging the Iron Curtain
In the year or so since I started this site, I’ve found that there are few people discussing the Soviet Jewish immigration issues that I’m interested in. I have, however, slowly started to find other bloggers who write on Soviet life, mostly from this side of the ocean, either because that’s where they came from or that’s who they married. There are also a few transplants who hopped from here to there.
But voila, the magic of the internets has produced a badge (which you can get for yourself here) and a list and that many more opportunities to be reminded of how not original we all are. Still, even though my family doesn’t fit any attempts to neatly classify immigrants or Soviet Jews or Ashkenazi Jews, it’s still nice to find other such blogs. I’ve created a list below, and please email me if you know of others I should add. The list includes bloggers from the ex-Soviet Union and related countries, both Jewish and not.
